The Learning Technology Grant

Is funding BET on LIGHT (BoLT) is a collaborative learning project for grades three through eight designed to deepen student understanding of the school and local community, and to build meaningful relationships between the school and local business, civic, and political leaders.

NYC Community School Districts 9 and 10 are jointly applying as a consortium for the Learning and Technology grant. New York City (NYC) Community School Districts 9 & 10 schools in the western Bronx. Together, CSD 9 and 10 serve a population of over 65,000 students. BoLT will impact 180 teachers, and at least 3,000 students, grades 3 through 8, in three phases over a 2.5-year period.

The LTG

Funded Honoring Student Voices (HSV) Opens in a new browser tab program is in three Community School District 10 (CSD10) schools, impacting 53 classroom teachers, 5 teacher specialists (technology, library media, literacy coach) 3 teaching artists and at least 1450 students, grades 3 through 5, over a 3-year period.

The three participating schools were among those with the greatest need in the district based on the NYS assessment performance and participation rates for ELA and Mathematics particularly for the Limited English Proficient (LEP), SWD and economically disadvantaged subgroups.

HSV developed a scaffolded approach to project-based literacy and arts integration through the effective use of a blended learning model that fosters the 4C’s of 21st Century Learning: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication as a pathway to college and career readiness.
